What must be included in the application package?

What must be included in the application package?

  • Congressman Balderson’s Nomination Application
  • List of special honors received, extracurricular activities, achievements
  • One to two-page essay stating your interests, goals, why you want to attend an academy
  • OFFICIAL High School transcripts (and OFFICIAL college transcripts if applicable)
  • OFFICIAL SAT scores/ACT scores
  • Three letters of recommendation

It is recommended you take the SAT/ACT standardized tests as early and as often as possible.

The academies and our office consider the highest test score received in each category regardless of when that score was received.

Three letters of recommendation from: teachers, church leaders, coaches or employers. Additional letters of recommendation are welcome and will be considered.


All of the above items must be received by Congressman Balderson’s Pickerington Office before close of business on Friday, October 30, 2026.
