Who is Eligible?

Each applicant for a nomination must meet the following eligibility requirements as of 1 July of the year of admission to a service academy:

Be at least 17, but not yet 22 years of age
Be a citizen of the United States
Be unmarried, and cannot be pregnant or have legal obligation to support a child
Meet the physical requirements of the academy
Meet the academic requirements of the academy
Demonstrate outstanding participation and performance in extracurricular activities
Be a legal resident of Ohio's 12th Congressional district
Submit a request to the academy for a catalog and pre-candidate questionnaire
