Balderson Tapped to Serve on Key Congressional Health Panel

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Troy Balderson has been selected to serve on the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health. This appointment will allow Balderson to further shape health policy in its earliest stages, ensuring the unique needs of Ohioans are prioritized.

The Energy and Commerce Committee, of which Balderson is already a member, has the broadest jurisdiction of any committee on Capitol Hill. The Health Subcommittee is directly tasked with overseeing issues ranging from biomedical research to the opioid epidemic to food and drug safety.

“I am doing everything I can in Washington to ensure all Ohioans have access to quality, affordable health care regardless of zip code,” said Balderson. “This Congress, I introduced several bills that would expand and enhance access to telehealth services and remote patient monitoring. These digital health technologies will improve health outcomes for patients across Ohio and help prevent opioid addiction and abuse. I am proud to be a leader on health care modernization on Capitol Hill, and I am thankful to be joining the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee.”

In February, Balderson helped launch the Congressional Digital Health Caucus, a first-of-its-kind platform for dialogue and collaboration to shape policies that support the integration of cutting-edge digital health technologies throughout the U.S. health care landscape.

Balderson’s additional subcommittee assignments include the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security and the Subcommittee on Environment, Manufacturing, and Critical Minerals.
