Disaster Relief Loan Application Available for Small Businesses Impacted by Spring and Summer Heavy Rains

Small businesses in Licking, Muskingum, Delaware, Franklin, Perry, Coshocton, Fairfield, and Knox counties affected by damages from heavy rains between April 1, 2022 and September 15, 2022 may now be eligible for federal disaster relief loans.

Following a recent disaster declaration, issued by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program is now available to eligible farm-related and nonfarm-related entities that suffered financial losses as a direct result of this disaster.

Except for aquaculture enterprises, the SBA cannot provide disaster loans to agricultural producers, farmers or ranchers.

The declaration covers small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofit organizations affected by excessive rain and moisture that occurred from April 1 through September 15, 2022.

The loan amount can be up to $2 million with interest rates of 2.94 percent for small businesses and 1.875 percent for private nonprofit organizations, with terms of up to 30 years.

Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA's secure website at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela/s/ and should apply under SBA declaration # 17739.
