Balderson to Azar: Guidance to State, Local Governments, Hospitals Needed on Reimbursements for COVID-19 Prevention, Care

WASHINGTON – Congressman Troy Balderson (R-OH) today sent a letter to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar requesting guidance to state and local governments, hospitals and care providers, and health insurance providers on reimbursement for testing, health screenings, treatments, and prevention measures related to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

“We believe that working together in the face of this public health threat is in the best interest of our constituents and request that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) take appropriate steps to ensure the American public is aware of and protected from this threat,” Balderson’s letter writes.

Balderson’s letter was co-signed by bipartisan Representatives Steve Stivers (R-OH), Tim Ryan (D-OH), Bill Johnson (R-OH), Pete Olson (R-TX), Chris Stewart (R-UT), Mike Kelly (R-PA), and Jody Hice (R-GA), and has support from The Ohio State University’s (OSU) Wexner Medical Center, OhioHealth, and Mount Carmel Health System of Trinity Health.
