Balderson Resolution Praises American Small Businesses, Pushes for Continued Support
Washington,
April 21, 2020
WASHINGTON – Congressman Troy Balderson (R-OH) today introduced a resolution commending the resiliency of America’s small businesses in light of challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and acknowledging the necessity of continued congressional support, given the vital role small businesses play in the national economy and lives of millions of Americans. (1) commends the innovation and prosperity that American small businesses provide to the American people and the American economy; (2) acknowledges the necessity of continued congressional support for America’s small businesses, through both regulatory flexibility and direct financial support, such as sufficient funding of the programs of the Small Business Administration; and (3) recognizes the creators, owners, and employees of, and contributors to, America’s small businesses.
“Small businesses make up half of the American economy and account for nearly half of all jobs. They are fighting for survival each and every day during this uncertain time. America’s small businesses are resilient and, thanks to their extraordinary drive and determination, will return to, and even exceed, business as usual,” said Kevin Kuhlman, Senior Director of Federal Government Relations of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). “NFIB thanks Congressman Balderson for introducing his Sense of Congress resolution, an important piece of NFIB’s Legislative Plan for the Survival of Small Businesses. We are grateful for his unwavering support of our nation’s small businesses and his encouragement of all Members of Congress to recognize the critical role that small businesses play in our economy and our communities.”
The resolution is cosponsored by Representatives Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Jim Hagedorn (R-MN), and Scott Tipton (R-CO).
