WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Troy Balderson issued the following statement Friday reacting to House Democrats' proposed America COMPETES Act of 2022:

“It is clear that Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats learned nothing from their disastrous Build Back Better blunder. The CHIPS Act presents Congress a golden opportunity to pass bipartisan, common-sense investments that would bolster American competitiveness on the world stage. Instead, they put forth a 3,000-page wish list packed with policies that are overly partisan and fail to actually confront the Chinese Communist Party.

“All is not lost though. We still have an opportunity to focus on areas of agreement in this package, like the CHIPS Act. The only question is: Are House Democrats willing to set aside their all-or-nothing approach in order to get something done for the American people?”
