WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Troy Balderson issued the following statement today blasting the Biden Administration for failures that have culminated in a national baby formula shortage and demanding immediate action to address the crisis:

“The baby formula shortage is yet another crisis of the Biden Administration’s own making–and it’s putting our most vulnerable Americans in jeopardy.

“The Administration’s refusal to expedite the reopening of one of the largest baby formula manufacturers in the U.S. and then laughing off the shortage at press conferences is deeply troubling.

"Despite being over a month since the company offered a response to FDA inspection observations, the FDA refuses to grant the necessary approval to reopen and is unresponsive to requests for further guidance.

“Ohioans refuse to accept empty shelves, skyrocketing prices, and hungry babies as the new norm in America, and neither do I.

“I join my colleagues in demanding that the FDA and this Administration get back in the office and fix these issues immediately.”
