WASHINGTON, D.C. – Health care groups across Ohio are commending Congressman Troy Balderson’s (OH-12) latest effort to expand access to affordable, quality care. Last month, Balderson launched the Congressional Digital Health Caucus, a platform for dialogue and collaboration to shape policies that support the integration of cutting-edge digital health technologies into the health care landscape.

Balderson founded the Digital Health Caucus with Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-2). Members of the caucus include: Representatives Jeff Duncan (SC-3), Kevin Hern (OK-1), Terri Sewell (AL-7), Richard Hudson (NC-9), Becca Balint (VT-At-Large), and David Schweikert (AZ-1).

In the 118th Congress, Balderson has introduced several bills, including the House-passed Remote Opioid Monitoring Act, promoting the use and adoption of remote patient monitoring (RPM). RPM is an innovative approach to health care that lets patients remain in the comfort of home while doctors track their medication adherence and monitor vital signs. This can be especially useful when patients are prescribed opioids and is a critical tool to combat addiction and abuse.
